When a family signs up for CCC they receive a Welcome Box that includes information about CCC services and fun items like a blanket, water bottle, distraction toy and a Louie Lionheart® stuffed animal.

Children’s Cancer Connection staff work directly with Child Life Specialists at Blank Children’s Hospital and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital to provide crafts, games and other activities to children undergoing treatment.

When a family experiences the death of a child to pediatric cancer, they receive a Star Box that includes a glass ornamental star, watercolor quotation, handwritten notes and notice of placement of their loved one’s name in CCC’s memorial area to honor them.

Childhood cancer treatment involves countless medical procedures and experiences. CCC’s Beads4Bravery® program allows families to collect a bead for every step and milestone to tell the story of their unique journey. Beads are earned during chemotherapy, clinic visits, sedation and more. See full details and participate!

For the parts of treatment that cause the most distress, kids can earn Bravery Bucks® and redeem them for fun items and prizes at the Courage Store® at Blank Children’s Hospital.
