A few times a year, teens will celebrate their friendships with an overnight lock-in, chaperoned by Children’s Cancer Connection® staff and volunteers. There is lots of fun to be had with movies, games, midnight snacks, and maybe even some sleep.

A monthly opportunity for teens (ages 13-18) to connect with each other for a few hours one Sunday a month. Dinner will be served while the teens catch up, play video games, watch movies, or get a chance to get some schoolwork done.

A program to support parents who have lost a child to cancer This group meets every month in Des Moines and quarterly in Iowa City and is hosted by professionals trained in family grief and loss.

A special event in December that kids get to enjoy all on their own—no parents allowed. Parents drop off the kids to enjoy holiday-themed food, crafts, games, and fun while every child leaves with their very own present. Iowa Select Farms employees team up with Children’s Cancer Connection® staff to make sure the kids have a fantastic time.

The Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation organizes the annual Back to School Bash. This event is for the entire family to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the end of summer and the upcoming school year. School-themed activities keep the kids busy and having fun while parents can connect and socialize. Dinner is served and each child that attends receives school supplies, all donated by the employees and contractors of Iowa Select Farms.
